Brand communication is crucial and an identifiable, successful brand is something customers will remember long after an ad impression from a TV, for example. There is also content marketing which focuses on the customers and where they are. Also, there is the opportunity for my technology organization to provide relevant and useful content that educates, solves problems, and clarifies the next steps for the customer to give his/her answer. There is also digital marketing, internal communications, public relations, video marketing, and of course website development to attract potential consumers.

Knowing about your product and services is not enough. Researching my specific target market is crucial in wanting to gain a competitive advantage in the market. Developing an understanding of your target market may require considerable time examining demographics, so that you can narrow down your list of potential customers. Segment your market into groups such as those differentiated by race, gender, income, buying patterns, product type, and customer needs. You should also research your competitors to determine how your technology will better fulfill the needs of your market than theirs presently does. Spending as much time with your product as possible is also important. Evaluating similar technologies in my field to determine whether I will be launching a product that infringes upon the intellectual property rights of any other company will be crucial during regulatory and legal issues.
